§ Mr. Austin MitchellTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his policy towards French proposals for(a) a temporary ban on fish imports into the EC and (b) minimum import prices.
§ Mr. CurryThe EC Commission, having consulted the fisheries management committee on 25 February, is adopting a measure requiring the price at which imports of certain species of white fish enter the Community to be equal to or above the reference price. I consider this to be a measured and balanced response to the current market problems.
