§ Mr. Eggar[holding answer 26 February 1993]: The current research undertaken by the Coal Research Establishment chiefly covers activities related to the British coal topping cycle, the Point of Ayr coal liquefaction plant 12W and a number of other projects related to the coal industry and industrial uses of coal. As British Coal owns and manages the coal research establishment, I have asked the chairman to respond in more detail to the points raised.
