§ Mr. LlwydTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he has to alleviate the financial and other difficulties which will befall those farmers in Wales who have not submitted fully completed IACS forms to the Welsh office by the deadline set; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RedwoodThe governing EC regulations stipulate the information which farmers have to provide and the time scale within which they are required to do so. The Commission has indicated that the rules allow some flexibility in analysing the information submitted to avoid imposing unjustified penalties. I will take full advantage of this flexibility when the EC has clarified the extent of it.
