§ Mr. BaldryThe Audit Commission, and the auditors which it appoints, already has a wide range of powers under the Local Government Finance Act 1982 and the Local Government Act 1992. Nevertheless, if specific, soundly based measures to strengthen those powers were proposed, we would be willing to consider further legislation.
