§ Mr. SainsburyMy Department's Invest in Britain Bureau has been notified of 1,411 inward investment decisions between 1982 and 1986 with 95,035 new jobs created. Similarly, between 1987 and 1991 there were 1,696 decisions, creating 129,955 new jobs. These figures are based on information provided by the companies at the time of the announcement to invest. There is no requirement to notify the Department and so the figures include only those projects where the Department's Invest in Britain Bureau and its regional partners were involved or which have come to their notice. They take no account of subsequent developments.
