§ Mr. BoswellIn 1992–93 some 71 per cent. of l6-year-olds and 55 per cent. of 17-year-olds participated in full-time education in schools, sixth-form colleges and further education colleges in England. In the same year the age participation index in Great Britain (defined as the number of young home initial entrants to higher education expressed as a percentage of the averaged 18 to 19-year-old population) was some 28 per cent.
