§ Mr. AitkenAll exports of defence equipment require an export licence, and applications are carefully scrutinised case by case. We do not allow the export of equipment likely to be used indiscriminately for the repression of civilian population. We have no evidence that British equipment supplied to Indonesia in the past has been used for civilian repression.
