§ Mr. Heathcoat-AmoryAdmiral Howe is the United Nations Secretary-General's special representative in Somalia. He is the head of mission and has responsibility for all aspects of the United Nations operation there, reporting directly to the Secretary-General. The head of the military component of UNOSOM II is General Bir. There is close co-operation between the military and political wings.
Copies of all the United. Nations Secretary-General's reports relating to the structure and objectives of the operation have been placed in the House Library.
§ Mr. WorthingtonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will place a report in the Library on the diplomatic activities and performance of the UN since the unified task force (UNITAF) was deployed in Somalia.
