Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will take steps to ensure that representatives of district and borough councils are appointed to the boards of the TECs; and if he will make a statement.

It is for TECs themselves to decide the membership of their boards within the broad framework set out in their contract with my Department. I am satisfied that TEC boards have adequate representation of their local authorities.
