§ Mr. FraserTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will continue to resist proposals for outlawing motor-cycles by the European Community where the power is in excess of 100 brake horse power.
§ Mr. KeyThe EC Council of Ministers adopted on 14 June a common position on the proposal for a directive on motor cycle power, which will permit higher powered motor cycles up to a limit of 94kW (125bhp) to be approved for registration in the United Kingdom until the end of the century. The proposal will now go to the European Parliament for Second Reading. It would be premature to speculate on the outcome.
