HC Deb 21 June 1993 vol 227 c53W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has to amend the Crown Proceedings (Armed Forces) Act 1987 so that claims would be permissible for accidents that occurred before 15 May 1987; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hanley

The Government have no plans to amend the Crown Proceedings (Armed Forces) Act 1987.

The question of whether the change made in 1987 should be retrospective was fully debated in the House at the time. It was decided that the new Act would not be retrospective. I see no reason to take a different view now.
