To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what matters were discussed in the ad hoc group meeting of the Home Affairs Ministers responsible for immigration matters in the European Community at its meeting in June; what discussions arising from the meeting are continuing; and in what form conclusions will be presented to Parliament.

Mr. Charles Wardle

I refer to the answer which my right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary gave on 9 June 1993 at column246, which gave an account of this meeting. Discussions will continue on a range of matters set out in the working programmes on immigration and asylum agreed by the European Council at Maastricht in December 1991.
