The Home Secretary has asked me to reply directly to your question about the tendering arrangements for the management of Doncaster Prison.The intention is to send out invitations to tender on 16 July 1993 with a closing date for the return of bids in mid September. The composition of the bidders' list will depend upon the response to the notice advertising the tendering exercise in the Official Journal of the European Community and a subsequent qualification assessment of the applicants.
