When the Minister for Overseas Development last met her EC colleagues to discuss development issues; and what was decided.
§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Chalker of Wallasey)I attended the Development Council in Brussels on 25th May. The Council agreed on future work to improve the54WA co-ordination of EC development policies, starting with poverty and health issues. It agreed resolutions on emergency assistance, rehabilitation in some sub-Saharan African countries, South Africa and on human rights, democracy and development. The council also discussed the situation in a number of specific African countries, the follow-up to UNCED, women in development and population policy.
