HC Deb 07 June 1993 vol 226 c169W
Mr. Tipping

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if the advisory committee on the safety of nuclear installations will now examine the computer systems at THORP and the Sellafield vitrification plant.

Mr. Eggar

I am advised that the Health and Safety Commission's advisory committee on the safety of nuclear installations has no plans at present to examine these systems which satisfy the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive's nuclear installations inspectorate.

Mr. Tipping

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what representations he has received from the advisory committee on the safety of nuclear installations and intermediate-level waste storage at Sellafield.

Mr. Eggar

None. A report by the Health and Safety Commission's advisory committee on the safety of nuclear installations on the accumulation of radioactive waste was published in July 1992.
