§ Mr. Robert BanksTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish a performance league table of local authorities which have achieved the largest volume of recycling waste products.
§ Mr. YeoMy Department has commissioned consul-tants Coopers and Lybrand to survey the recycling plans of English waste collection authorities. This work, which will be completed shortly, is expected to provide information on recycling rates, as reported in the plans.
Local authorities in England and Wales have also been asked by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy to provide information about recycling rates as part of CIPFA's 1991–92 waste collection and disposal surveys. I understand that the results of these surveys will be published shortly.
I will arrange for both publications to be placed in the Library of the House.
