HC Deb 07 June 1993 vol 226 c57W
Mr. Dowd

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what undertakings Sir Philip Harris has given as to the proportion of his time to be devoted to the chairmanship of the Lewisham Hospital Trust relative to business and other activities; and if she will now review his appointment.

Dr. Mawhinney

All national health service trust chairmen are expected to devote at least the equivalent of three working days per week to their duties. I have no reason to believe that Sir Philip Harris will not be in a position to make this commitment and I have no plans to review his appointment.
