To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if she will make a statement on the current level of job vacancies in England and Wales.

§ Miss Widdecombe
On the seasonally adjusted basis unfilled jobcent re vacancies in April 1993 stood at 92,600 in England and 9,300 in Wales, increases of 8.4 per cent. and 4.5 per cent respectively on April a year ago.
Jobcentre vacancies do not represent the total number of vacancies available in the economy.
