Hosted on behalf of Her Majesty's Government by the Secretary of State for Scotland. The guest list included a cross section of the political, commercial, academic and cultural aspects of Scottish life in addition to the President's official suite. 53 guests with approximate total cost of £3,500. The costs of this event will be met by the Government Hospitality Fund.

Hosted by Mr. K. J. MacKenzie, Secretary, The Scottish Office Agriculture and Fisheries Department and attended by members of the Bundestag Agricultural Committee, senior officials of The Scottish Office Agriculture and Fisheries Department and the German Consul in Scotland.
