§ Mr. ElletsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has made to the Spanish Government about the arrest and detention in Majorca of Trevor Sinclair of Blackpool football club; whether he will protest to the Spanish Government about the mistreatment by the Majorcan police of other members of the Blackpool team; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydMr. Sinclair was arrested on 18 May for damaging property. After his release the next day he made no complaint to Her Majesty's consul about his treatment by the Spanish authorities. We received no complaints from other members of the Blackpool football team. If they have any to make I shall be glad to look into the matter.
