§ Mr. MorleyTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if she will list the amounts received by the United Kingdom in objective 5a grants(a) according to region and (b) the amount directed towards areas within the county of Humberside.
§ Mr. Jack[holding answer 16 July 1993]: The total amount of European Community funding received for agricultural grants under objective 5a of the European agricultural guidance and guarantee fund in the United Kingdom in 1992 was approximately £64 million. This related to total payments within the United Kingdom, including national funding, of around £190 million. The figures include receipts and expenditure in respect of objective 5a schemes paid in objective 1 areas—Northern Ireland—and in objective 5b areas—certain designated rural areas requiring development.
These figures broken down by region are summarised in the table. I regret that a figure for the amount of aid directed towards areas within the county of Humberside could be provided only at disproportionate cost as information on the various schemes is not kept on a county basis.
