§ Mr. EggarThe plutonium content of nuclear reactor fuel changes during operation as a result of nuclear reactions in the core. The amount of plutonium in the fuel of the prototype fast reactor at Dounreay when the reactor is shut down in 1994 will therefore depend on the reactor performance and also on the timing and extent of any refuelling that may be required.
