HC Deb 27 July 1993 vol 229 cc832-3W
Mr. Meacher

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if board members of(a) district health authorities, (b) family health services authorities and (c) NHS trusts are required to declare interests; whether a register of such interests is maintained and available for public inspection; and to which provisions of the citizens charter or to specific charters relating to their own duties they are subject.

Mr. Sackville

Chairmen and members of health authorities and chairmen and non-executive directors of national health service trusts are required to declare pecuniary interests that could influence, or be thought to influence, their judgment of any decisions to be taken by the authority or trust of which they are a member. There is no requirement to maintain a register of interests. There are no provisions in the citizens charter or specific charters which relate explicitly to board members.
