§ Mr. Sackville[holding answer 23 July 1993]: The Department is currently exploring ways in which the mechanisms being set up to monitor the prevalence of neural tube defects following the issue of advice about folic acid in pregnancy, can be enhanced to include the prevalence of other common and major defects.
