§ Mr. PortilloThe percentage change in real terms between 1979–80 and 1992–93—the latest year for which detailed figures are available—is 23 per cent. for general Government expenditure, excluding privatisation proceeds, 5 per cent. for defence, 63 per cent. for social security, 53 per cent. for health and 27 per cent. for education.
