HC Deb 27 July 1993 vol 229 c970W
Sir Nicholas Fairbairn

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the estimated or actual cost of the fancification of the two roundabouts on the under-approach to Edinburgh airport and the various associated pillars and railings around them; and by whom they were authorised.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The landscaping work on the two roundabouts at the Edinburgh airport interchange is being undertaken by Lothians and Edinburgh Enterprise Ltd.

I understand the costs are being met in full by the Enterprise Company. The Scottish Office, as one of the two road authorities affected, has been consulted during design and construction and satisfied itself as to the safety of the proposal before consenting to the work.

My hon. and learned Friend may find it helpful to contact the local enterprise company direct should he wish to discuss the matter. The enterprise company would be happy to discuss the project and to provide any further details he may require about it.
