To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many victim support schemes now operate in England and Wales.

Mr. Maclean

I understand there are some 360 local victim support schemes and branches in England and Wales. In addition there are 36 schemes operating in the Crown court as the Crown court witness service of Victim Support.
