HC Deb 26 July 1993 vol 229 c610W
Mr. Cryer

To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will give the number of schools in each local authority out of the total number of schools in each case which have transmitted SAT results to their education authority.

Mr. Robin Squire

All primary schools maintained by a local education authority are required to send their key stage 1 test results to their authority for onward transmission to the Department. These must be sent to the authority by the end of the summer term. The end date for the authority's returns is 31 July. Secondary schools are required to submit their results through the GCSE examining groups by no later than 15 September. It is, therefore, too soon to have accurate figures on the number of schools that have transmitted their results as required.
