As Chief Executive of the Benefits Agency, it is my responsibility to answer questions about relevant operational matters. I am therefore replying to your recent Parliamentary Questions to the Secretary of State for Social Security asking how many applications to the crisis fund he received in the aftermath of the Llandudno flooding; what percentage of these have been granted and what percentage of these were from people in receipt of invalidity benefit.The Benefits Agency District of North Wales Coast, which serves the area affected by the flooding, received 187 applications for a Crisis Loan from victims of the flood. All of these applications resulted in an award. Eight of the applications (4.3 per cent.) were from people in receipt of Invalidity Benefit.I hope you find this reply helpful.
