To ask the Secretary of Stale for Transport, what are the expected savings to be made from the repeal of the disabled passenger scheme.

§ Mr. Key
I understand the saving will be in the region of £500,000 in the first year, based on the approximate annual number of new applications.
Current beneficiaries under this scheme will not lose their entitlement to exemption from vehicle excise duty as a result of the repeal.
