Mr. Greenway

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what was the value of(a) imports and (b) exports of each of the G7 countries in the past year; what were the comparable figures five, 10 and 15 years ago in real terms; and if he will make a statement.

The value of imports and exports for each of the G7 countries for 1992 are shown in table 1. Comparable figures in real terms for five, 10 and 15 years ago are not available. Comparable figures for five, 10 and 15 years ago at current prices are shown in table 2. United Kingdom export performance has been impressive in recent years.
