HL Deb 20 July 1993 vol 548 c37WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What cuts, if any, are proposed in (a) the present round of spending cuts in the £2,257,000 of public money which the Department of Transport had intended to spend on "enhancing the motorway network" in 1993-94, and (h) in the longer-term multibillion pound programme which presumably includes the network of 12-lane superhighways.

The Earl of Caithness

In 1993–94, expected expenditure remains as stated in my Answer of 14 June (Hansard vol. 546 col. WA 67).

Future plans for public expenditure, which will include trunk roads and motorways, will be announced in the Chancellor's unified budget at the end of November.
