HC Deb 15 July 1993 vol 228 c667W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will set out the notional housing revenue account figures for Wales for the current financial year and the estimates made in respect of the next financial year; and if he will list the assumptions on which they are based.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

The information is as follows:

1993–94 1994–95
£ million £ million
Notional income from rents 322.9 346.9
Notional management and maintenance allowance 168.8 174.3

The 1993–94 figures are taken from local authorities first advance subsidy claim forms.

For 1994–95, the estimated figures are also based on the initial claim form data for 1993–94. The key assumptions are for per dwelling increases in real terms of 5 per cent. in guideline rents and 1 per cent. in management and maintenance allowances. These assumptions will be reviewed in this year's public expenditure survey and will be subject to consultation in the usual way. The relevant inflation assumption from 1993–94 to 1994–95 is 4.25 per cent. as set out in the Financial Statement and Budget Report 1993–94.
