As at 30 September 1992, however, there were three established posts for consultant anaesthetists which had been vacant for six months or more. Two or these, in Argyll and Clyde and Western Isles health boards, were filled earlier this year. A further post in Argyll and Clyde health board has been advertised but no appointment has been made.
