§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information he has recently received from his United States counterpart in regard to the United States Administration's current policies towards the military nuclear programme in North Korea.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggWe are in close and frequent contact with the Government of the United States over the problem of North Korea's failure to comply with its obligations under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. The United States is actively seeking a lasting solution to the problem by which North Korea would reaffirm permanantly her commitment to the non-proliferation treaty, and abide by her safeguards agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Bilateral talks between the Governments of the United States and North Korea are set to resume on 14 July in Geneva.
