§ Mr. CoxTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he is providing to the task force on deregulation in the construction industry; and what assessment he has made of the effect of removing building regulations on reducing carbon dioxide emissions, improving energy conservation and ensuring health and safety in buildings.
§ Mr. BaldryOfficials in my Department have met members of the task force on deregulation in the construction industry, and have provided them with details of the Building Regulations 1991 and the proposals to amend parts L and F. All proposed changes to the Building Regulations are fully assessed before implementation.
