§ Mr. BrookeSuch funding is provided through the grant schemes administered by English Heritage, one of the Department's sponsored bodies. During 1992–93, English Heritage made 46 offers to county councils under its main grant programmes, representing £0.5 million in total. In addition, it contributed over £7 million, in the form of town schemes and areas grants, to owners of listed buildings through partnership arrangements with local authorities.
