§ Mr. HanleyFormer membership of the House of Commons is not a relevant qualification for appointment and is not centrally recorded. We are aware of only one example. Sir Antony Buck QC, the then Member for Colchester, North, served on the independent board of visitors for the military corrective centre, Colchester from 1980 to 1992. At that date he stood down as a Member of Parliament and relinquished his appointment.
