HL Deb 07 July 1993 vol 547 c66WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many refugees and medical cases have been admitted to Britain from the former Yugoslavia since Her Majesty's Government's offer to take 1,000 men and 3,000 dependants; and whether they are giving sufficient priority to cases for family reunion.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

As at 5th July 1993, a total of 238 ex-detainees and 404 dependants from the former Yugoslavia have so far arrived under the arrangements which the Government announced on 30th November 1992. A further group, due to include 30 people in all, arrived on 6th July. In addition, 68 sick and wounded ex-detainees from Bosnia arrived in September 1992.

Cases for family reunion receive the highest priority.
