§ Mr. AlisonSince 1969 more than 100 or about one third of the sites of demolished redundant churches have been transferred to housing associations or local authorities, mainly for social housing purposes. Conversion of standing redundant church buildings present more difficulties, but, over the same period, 11 have been transferred to housing associations or local authorities for social housing purposes while terms have been agreed in a twelfth case.
