HC Deb 02 July 1993 vol 227 c637W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what consideration his Department has given to equipping Royal Navy vessels with a conventional stand-off weapon system.

Mr. Aitken

Many Royal Navy ships are already equipped with anti-ship stand off missiles systems such as Harpoon and Exocet. We are currently studying the United Kingdom requirement for land attack cruise missiles. Studies are at a very early stage and a decision is not expected for some time.
