HC Deb 02 July 1993 vol 227 c647W
Dame Jill Knight

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what are the estimated savings made in 1992–93as a result of the introduction of a charge for sight tests.

Dr. Mawhinney

We estimate that the savings made in 1992–93 a result of restricting the categories of people eligible for a national health service sight test were £100 million.
