§ Sir Patrick MayhewThe emergency services continue to provide an outstanding service in responding to incidents involving terrorist violence, as they do to all incidents requiring their expertise. The men and women serving in the fire brigade, ambulance service and police, as well as those in other organisations, including the Housing 581W Executive, social services and Compensation Agency, who are called upon to react to terrorist incidents, deserve great credit for their work and I have nothing but praise for them.
