HC Deb 26 January 1993 vol 217 c631W
Mr. McMaster

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will visit Paisley to discuss policing and crime.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

No. It is the responsibility of the chief constable of Strathclyde police to take operational decisions on the policing of Paisley. My right hon. and learned Friend the Minister of State had a meeting with the hon. Members for Paisley, South and for Paisley, North (Mrs. Adams) on 20 October 1992 in the course of which he described the initiatives being taken by Strathclyde police to deal with Paisley's crime problems.
