To ask the Secretary of State for Wales on what date he was first informed of allegations of improper conduct in the placing of his Department's printing and publicity contracts; and what follow-up action he took.

§ Mr. David Hunt
On 28 April 1992 I was advised that a member of staff engaged in publicity work was to be dismissed for misconduct following an informal investigation. The matter was put in the hands of the police.
A reorganisation of the department's systems for publicity management had been instituted in 1991 and is continuing.
