§ Mr. Tony BanksTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps are being taken to protect wildlife sites and sites of special scientific interest in the Wash, north Norfolk coast, Cardigan bay, the Dorset heritage coastline and Flamborough head from oil exploration and possible oil contamination arising from the Department of Trade and Industry's 14th round of offering oil and gas exploration licences.
§ Mr. MacleanI am satisfied that the consultations carried out before issue of oil and gas exploration licences, and the special conditions attached to those issued by my right hon. and learned Friend safeguard such environmentally sensitive areas.
