§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThree independent studies by American and New Zealand experts have demonstrated that the levels of radioactivity on Christmas island—now Kiritimati—is consistent with that to be expected from world-wide fall-out. As for the Monte Bello islands, the report of the technical assessment group showed their 559W isolation and lack of potable water ensured visitations would be casual and that such visits would cause no radiological health concern. For both localities, therefore, no radioactive decontamination is either necessary or planned.
