§ Mr. BrookeI have not received any representations from sporting or other authorities to ban Thai boxing. The Sports Council has however met representatives of various Thai boxing and kick boxing bodies to discuss possible recognition of the activity. They are currently awaiting a unified response from these bodies before considering the issue further. At present, Thai boxing and kick boxing are not recognised by the Sports Council for purposes of grant aid or other services.
