§ Mr. McLoughlinThe information about the percentage of those referred to employment training by the Employment Department who did not arrive is not available in the form requested. The total number of people who took part in and subsequently completed employment training for Great Britain, Wales and the valleys initiative area is shown in the following table. The table also shows the percentage of those people referred by the employment service who actually started on employment training for Wales and Great Britain in the year ended March 1992. Some people referred will have withdrawn their application, for example because they have taken up a job; others will have been advised to seek 445W alternative help after assessment. These people will have arrived but not started. Information on the referral to start ratio for the Valleys Programme area is not readily available in the form requested and can be provided only at disproportionate cost.
