Letter from Michael Richard to Mr. Paul Flynn, dated 20 January 1993:
I wrote to you on 27 October in reply to your Parliamentary Question to the Secretary of State for Social security concerning the number of people claiming Disability Living Allowance (DLA) who had help completing their claim forms either with a telephone call or a visit from the Forms Completion Service staff of the Disability Benefit Centres.I should explain that the figures provided include numbers for assistance given for DLA and Attendance Allowance. We are unable to provide the figure for DLA only as you requested. Please accept my apologies for any confusion that this may have caused. A copy of this letter will appear in the Official Report. A copy is also being placed in the Library.
